About this event

Did you know that almost 1 in 5 people in Australia will be affected by disability at some point in their lives?

In this training session, our aim is to challenge the perception of disability in the workplace and community. In doing so, provide positive and meaningful outcomes for yourself, your community group programs and activities, your group members, and the wider Boroondara community.

What you will learn:

- Challenging myths and stereotypes often linked to people with a disability

- Interacting with people who have a range of disabilities

- Using appropriate language and behaviour to create welcoming environments

- Understanding how to make “Reasonable Adjustments”

- Living the Scope Approach by Seeing the Person and not the disability.

This workshop is facilitated by two Scope educators with lived experience from the Scope Access Services Team.
